AO: Assembly Ordinance—laws for the Municipality.

AMATS: Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions. Federally mandated MPO for the Anchorage area (excludes Girdwood)

AMATS Policy Committee (PC): The policy committee of AMATS. Powerful committee for making policy and determining what happens with infrastructure investments.

AMATS Technical Advisory Committee (TAC): Technical advisory committee to the policy committee.

AIM: Assembly Informational Memo

AKDOT, AKDOT & PF, DOT: Alaska Department of Transportation, Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. The state’s transportation department, under the control of the executive branch of state government.

AR: Assembly Resolution—statements of intent, policy, or agreement for the Municipality.

CC: Community Council

CIB/CIP: Capital Improvement Budget/Capital Improvement Program

FCC: Federation of Community Councils

GAC: Geotechnical Advisory Commission

PZC: Planning And Zoning Commission

PZC Case: A case that goes to the Planning and Zoning Commission for discussion and review. The Planning and Zoning Commission then either makes a decision on the case or makes a recommendation to the Assembly (depends what kind of case).

S Version (anything with “(S)” attached to it): A substitute version of a document. Usually produced after edits or changes to an original.

UDC: Urban Design Commission

ZBEA: Zoning Board of Examiners and Appeals
